Legal Edit Coaching is a trading name of Beacon & Bastion Advisory Limited (Company No: 16713287), registered in England & Wales. Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ.

For data protection purposes, we are the “Data Controller.”

2. What Information We Collect

We collect and process the following personal data:
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number.
- Professional details: CV, LinkedIn profile, academic history, job applications.
- Payment information (processed securely via Stripe/PayPal – we do not store card details).
- Session recordings (Zoom/Loom) where agreed.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your data to:
- Deliver coaching, CV reviews, and related services.
- Communicate with you regarding bookings, feedback, and support.
- Process payments and manage invoicing.
- Comply with legal and tax obligations.
- Improve our services (e.g., anonymised analytics).
We will never sell or rent your data to third parties.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Our legal bases under UK GDPR are:
- Contract: to deliver the services you have booked.
- Consent: for optional recording of sessions and email marketing (opt-in only).
- Legal obligation: for financial record-keeping.
- Legitimate interest: to improve services and prevent fraud.

5. Sharing Your Information

We only share personal data with:
- Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal).
- IT service providers (Calendly, Carrd, Zoom, ProtonMail, Google Drive/Dropbox).
- Professional advisers (accountants, insurers, lawyers).
All third parties are GDPR-compliant and process data under contract.

6. Data Storage & Security

CVs and coaching materials are stored securely on encrypted cloud storage (Google Drive/Dropbox Business) with limited access.
Emails are handled via ProtonMail (end-to-end encrypted).
Payment data is processed externally (we never see or store your full card details).
Devices used are encrypted, with two-factor authentication enabled.

7. Data Retention

- CVs, coaching notes, and recordings: kept for 12 months from the date of service, then securely deleted.
- Financial records: retained for 6 years (per HMRC requirements).
- Email correspondence: retained for 24 months, unless deletion is requested sooner.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Request correction or deletion.
- Withdraw consent (for recordings or marketing).
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability.
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO (www.ico.org.uk).

Terms of Business & Disclaimer

1. Services Provided

Legal Edit Coaching provides career coaching, CV and application reviews, interview preparation, and academic tutoring. These services are educational and advisory in nature and do not constitute legal advice. We give no warranty that job or application success is guaranteed or promised.

2. Booking & Payment

All sessions must be paid for in full at the time of booking. Bookings are only confirmed once payment is received. Payments are non-refundable. Sessions may be rescheduled once with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.

3. Cancellation & Non-Attendance

If you fail to attend a booked session, you forfeit the session and no refund will be provided and you will not be able to repeat the session. If we must cancel a session (e.g., illness, unforeseen event), we will reschedule at the earliest possible opportunity.

4. Deliverables

Feedback provided (CVs, LinkedIn, interview prep, recordings) is tailored but not guaranteed to secure employment or training contracts. We do not guarantee specific outcomes, interviews, or job offers.

5. Confidentiality

We will treat all CVs, applications, and materials shared with strict confidentiality. Recordings are only made with your consent and will be stored securely.

6. Intellectual Property

Materials (e.g., templates, guides, toolkits) provided by Legal Edit Coaching remain our intellectual property. You may use them for personal purposes only and may not share or resell them.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legal Edit Coaching accepts no liability for any loss or damage (financial or otherwise) arising from use of our services. Services are provided “as is” without warranties, express or implied.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed under the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
